CCAE Spring 2014 Registration Now Open

Come build this Shaker step stool entirely with hand tools with me at CCAE.

This is a quick reminder that registration for Spring 2014 classes at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education is now open. I'll be teaching a 10-week Saturday afternoon class where we'll build a Shaker step stool entirely with hand tools. Register for the class here (HTSS 01: Hand Tool Woodworking: Build A Shaker Step Stool).

In the process you'll learn a variety of hand tool skills that you can use in all kinds of projects. They can be used alone or blended with power tools. And yes, we'll talk about the orientation of those wedged tenons, along with general considerations of grain and how it affects construction.

If my class doesn't quite match your interest, there are several others in the woodworking category, including evening classes using mixed power and hand tools with Freddy Roman or Carl Spagnoli, and hand tool classes with Dan Paret.

You can read my profile of Freddy here, and visit Freddy's and Dan's web sites for more information about what they do.
